The short version: we keep what we need to run the service, we do not sell it, and files are not end-to-end encrypted.

Who runs Livetona

Livetona is run by an independent developer. For privacy questions or requests, contact rishabhpandey230@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the basic profile details Google shares with us. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored as a hash. It is not sent to Livetona's own server.
  • Files you upload: the file itself, plus its name, size, type, upload time and expiry time.
  • Links you create: a one-way fingerprint of the link's secret, its expiry, any download limit, how many times it was downloaded, and whether it was revoked. If you set a password on a link, we store a salted hash of it, not the password.
  • Technical data: our hosting providers handle your requests and may log technical details such as IP address, browser type and time. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers.

Someone who downloads a file through a link does not create an account, and we do not ask them for anything.

What we do with it

We use it only to run Livetona: sign you in, store your files, check links, enforce limits, delete expired files, and deal with abuse. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

How files are protected, and what that does not cover

  • Files are kept in private storage with no public address. A download uses a temporary address that stops working after about a minute.
  • Links are long and random, and we store only a fingerprint of each one.
  • Files are not end-to-end encrypted. The person who runs Livetona and our storage provider can technically access stored files. A link only keeps out people who do not have it. Please do not upload anything highly sensitive, such as ID documents or passwords.

How long we keep things

  • Files: deleted when they expire (1 hour to 7 days, your choice). Links stop working at the moment of expiry. The stored file is removed by a cleanup that runs about once an hour. You can also delete a file yourself at any time, and that removes it right away.
  • Records: after a file is deleted or expires, we currently keep its database record (name, size and dates) and its link records. There is no automatic purge of these yet.
  • Account: kept until you ask us to remove it. Account removal is not self-service yet, so contact rishabhpandey230@gmail.com.
  • We do not make backups of your uploaded files, so we cannot recover a deleted or expired file.

Text sharing (when it is switched on)

Livetona can also let people share a piece of text without an account. When that is available:

  • What we store: the text, its size, when it expires, whether it deletes after being opened, and a salted hash of the IP address it was posted from (not the address itself).
  • Not end-to-end encrypted: the person who runs Livetona can read stored texts, and we may read texts that are reported. Anyone with the link can read the text, so do not post passwords or private data.
  • How long: a text is deleted, content included, when it expires (1 hour to 7 days, your choice). A text set to delete after opening is deleted the moment it is opened. A text reported by several different people is hidden until we review it.
  • Limits and abuse: to stop spam we count how many texts, views and reports come from each IP hash, and keep those counters for about 2 days. A report stores the reason and the reporter's IP hash until the text is deleted. If a person posts something that breaks the rules we may block their IP hash.
  • Bot check: the page for posting text loads a verification check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) to tell people from bots. It runs in your browser under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Who else handles your data

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Cloudflare: hosts the website and our server code.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • ascii-magic.com: the home page and the page-not-found page load a decorative animation from this site, so your browser contacts it when those pages open. It is loaded in an isolated frame that cannot see your account.

These providers may handle data in other countries than yours.

Browser storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your light or dark theme choice. We do not use tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can delete any file and revoke any link from your dashboard. For anything else, such as removing your account or asking what we hold about you, contact rishabhpandey230@gmail.com.
