How it works
Share a file, then let it expire.
- Upload. Sign in with email or Google, choose a file (up to 25 MB) and pick how long to keep it: 1 hour to 7 days.
- Create a link. Make a link for the file. Optionally add a password and a download limit.
- Share it. Send the link to anyone. They open it and download. They do not need an account.
- It goes away. When the link or the file expires, or you delete or revoke it, the download stops working.
Questions
What can I upload?
PDF, PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, MP3, MP4, TXT, DOCX, XLSX and ZIP files, up to 25 MB each. Programs and scripts are not allowed. You can keep up to 100 MB in total.
How long do files and links last?
You choose when you upload (1 hour to 7 days), and a link can never outlive its file. A link stops working the moment it expires. The file itself is removed by a cleanup that runs about once an hour, so it can sit in storage for a short while after expiry, but nobody can download it.
Does the person downloading need an account?
No. Only the person uploading signs in. If you set a password on the link, you have to tell them the password separately.
How does the download limit work?
A limit of 3 means 3 downloads of that link in total, by anyone. If one person downloads it 3 times, the limit is used up. A download counts when it starts, so a failed or interrupted download still uses one. Opening the link page or typing a wrong password does not use a download. To give each person their own limit, make a separate link for each.
I lost a link. Can I get it back?
No. We store only a one-way fingerprint of each link, so we cannot show it to you again. The dashboard shows the link while you have it open. If you lose it, create a new link and revoke the old one.
How is the link kept private?
The secret part of a link sits after the # in the address. Browsers do not send that part to web servers when a page loads. Our server receives it in the request body when a link is opened or downloaded, in order to check it, and we keep only a one-way fingerprint. Files are stored in private storage with no public address, and a download uses a web address that stops working after about a minute.
Can you see my files?
Files are not end-to-end encrypted. They are stored with our hosting provider, and the person who runs Livetona and the provider can technically access stored files. A link only keeps out people who do not have it. Do not upload anything you would not be comfortable with that. See the privacy page for details.
Can I share just text, without an account?
When text sharing is switched on, yes. Paste your text (up to 64 KB), pick when it disappears (1 hour to 7 days) and you get a private link. No account is needed to post or to read. Anyone with the link can read the text, and it is not end-to-end encrypted, so do not paste passwords or private data. There is a short check to prove you are not a bot, and limits on how often one connection can post.
What does "delete after it is opened once" do?
The text is deleted from our server the moment someone opens it, so only one person can ever read it. The page asks before opening, so a refresh or a link preview in a chat app does not use it up. Once opened, the text is gone: copy it if you need it. The sender cannot get it back.
How much does it cost?
Nothing today. See pricing.
How do I delete my account?
There is no button for it yet. You can delete your files and revoke links any time from the dashboard. To remove your account, contact rishabhpandey230@gmail.com.
